resource repository
Added by Paul Brown, last edited by Maciej Szefler on Sep 02, 2005

resource repository — a collection of resources indexed by URI. PXE uses resource repositories to secure ephemeral and local resources for later access. PXE includes a set of commandline tools (rradd, rralias, rrdrop, rrget, and rrls) and an Ant task (<pxe-rr>) for manipulating resource repositories.

Static and Dynamic Resources
Resource repositories provide a way to package resources according to URI whether or not those URIs can be sensibly resolved (as URLs) under generic circumstances.

For example, a resource repository might be used to package a set of resources indexed by URIs like file:/foo/bar... so that those resources can be accessed predictably on a different system.
